Most lens problems come from care, not from the lens. Five minutes here saves a month of discomfort.
Before you touch a lens
Wash your hands with soap and dry them on a lint-free towel. Water carries bacteria, so never rinse a lens under the tap — only with solution.
Putting them in
Rest the lens on your fingertip, bowl side up. If the edges flare outward, it's inside out — flip it. Hold your upper lid with one hand, pull the lower lid down with the other, look up, and place the lens on the lower white of your eye. Blink slowly. It will settle on its own.
Taking them out
Look up, slide the lens down onto the white of your eye with your fingertip, then pinch it gently. Never drag a dry lens across your eye.
Storing them
Empty the case completely and refill with fresh solution every single time. Never top up old solution — that's the fastest way to grow bacteria. Replace the case itself every three months.
Making a pair last the full month
Your month starts the day you first open the blister, not the day it arrives. Rub each lens gently in solution for ten seconds before storing. Use lens cleaner once a week to remove protein build-up, which is the main cause of cloudy vision and dryness.
Never do these
- Never sleep in colour lenses
- Never share a pair, even once
- Never wear them swimming or in the shower
- Never wear a lens that feels sharp, gritty, or painful
- Never wear them longer than 8–10 hours a day
If something feels wrong
Take the lens out immediately. If redness, pain, or blurred vision continues after removal, see an eye doctor the same day. Don't wait it out.
